Born in 1966 we are one of the oldest wine growers cooperative in Southern Italy.
Our wide range of products allows us to deal with both on-trade and off-trade markets, offering entry-level wines, premium wines, organic wines, and sparkling wines. The Cantina di Solopaca is one of the oldest wine growers cooperative in Southern Italy.
The Cantina di Solopaca extends along the foothills of the National Park
of Mount Taburno, in the province of Benevento (80 km from Naples), an
area historically known as Sannio, which has always been dedicated to
viticulture.

The hills of Solopaca are the birthplace of the extraordinary "Solopaca DOC', the first blended wine to have acquired the D.O.C, guarantee in 1974 in Southern Italy. The main varieties of grapes grown are Falanghina and Aglianico, local Sannio vines, but also Greco and Fiano.
In recent years vineyards linked to the Sannio tradition have also been rediscovered such as Coda di Volpe and Barbera, all representing the best of the "Sannio D.O.C." brand.

The vineyards are located in an area that, stretches from Solopaca to 16 other neighbouring disctricts, all of
which are situated on hills ranging between 200 and 400 metres above sea level and over
which the Mediterranean sea breeze blows.

The soil is rich in minerals thanks to the vicinity of Vesuvio and is considered, since Greek times, to be the best for wine growing; in all there are 1300 hectares of vineyards ^. where
there is a deeply rooted passion for wine.

The grapes are grown with dedication throughout the year and are then harvested by hand. They are brought into the winery where they are carefully selected and, as a result of the right balance
between traditional and modern technological methods, we are acquire either a red wine which
can be slowly aged in our oak barrels or a white wine which goes through a process of
cryomaceration in steel casks or, not forgetting of course, our "Spumante di Falanghina" which is
prepared in a vacuum still over a period of time.
